Our Story
Heart & Soul started as youth training program teaching youth skills in bread and dessert making. The program regularly provided baked goods and services to The National Center for Children and Families (NCCF) staff, friends, and neighbors. Youth participants sold baked goods at the Takoma Park, Maryland, and Rock Spring Farmers Markets, to name a few. The baked goods were so well-received that the program lead to a small contract with Marriot International, Inc. to supply cookies to local hotel locations for guests and events.

Today, Heart & Soul Catering continues its partnership with NCCF’s Workforce Development Training Program to afford at-risk young adults ages 16 to 24, the opportunity to become Certified Food Service Managers. Heart & Soul Catering is committed to the betterment of the young adults for which it serves. Not only does Heart & Soul offer high quality catering service to the DC Metropolitan region but it acquaints young adults with the social, moral, and professional values that foster positive change in the community.
Heart & Soul’s goal is to expand its business to regional corporations, businesses, and social events and continue to strengthen its partnership with NCCF to support young adults in self-sufficiency.
